Aim: The EMBOS Pilot Project as proof of concept
After the first selection of the observatories and the indicators and tools for the monitoring of marine biodiversity, a pilot study at some of the selected observatory sites, assembled in the Working Group Pilot Studies (WGPS), has been set up to assess the operability of EMBOS approach. In several workshops, a standardized methodology for the sustained observation of marine biodiversity of several habitats (Hard Substrate, soft substrate, lagoons and the pelagial) has been developed, and finally tested at a workshop (Oristano (IT), February 2014). In spring 2014, the first sampling for EMBOS Pilot Project was carried out.
